Description
Creamy coconut sorbet emerges as a refreshing tropical dessert with pure island flavors. Smooth coconut milk and natural sweeteners blend into an elegant frozen treat you’ll savor to the last cool spoonful.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (240 milliliters) coconut water
- 2 cans (13-14 oz / 390-415 mL) unsweetened coconut milk, chilled
- 1 can (13-14 oz / 390-415 mL) unsweetened coconut cream, chilled
- ½ cup (100 grams) granulated sugar, adjust to taste
- Shredded coconut or coconut flakes (optional)
Instructions
- Syrup Creation: Heat coconut water and sugar in a small saucepan over low flame, stirring until sugar completely dissolves. Chill the liquid in the refrigerator for 30-45 minutes.
- Blending Process: Combine chilled simple syrup, coconut milk, and coconut cream in a high-powered blender. Pulse until the mixture becomes silky smooth and uniform, eliminating any sugar crystals.
- Freezing Preparation: Transfer the blended coconut mixture into a metal 9×5 inch freezer-safe container, ensuring an even distribution across the surface.
- Crystallization Prevention: Place the container in the freezer. Interrupt the freezing process every 30 minutes for the first 3 hours, vigorously stirring with a fork to disrupt ice crystal formation and maintain a creamy consistency.
- Serving Preparation: After approximately 4 hours, the sorbet should reach an ideal scoopable texture. If overly firm, allow the sorbet to soften at room temperature for 10-15 minutes before serving.
- Final Presentation: Scoop the sorbet into chilled serving bowls. Enhance the presentation by sprinkling toasted or shredded coconut flakes as an optional garnish.
Notes
- Chill Thoroughly: Ensure simple syrup is completely cold before blending to prevent unwanted ice crystallization and maintain smooth texture.
- Break Ice Crystals Consistently: Frequent stirring prevents large ice chunks, creating a creamy, soft sorbet with perfect scoopable consistency.
- Choose Right Container: Use a metal pan or freezer-safe container with wide surface area to help mixture freeze and mix evenly.
- Soften Strategically: Allow sorbet to sit at room temperature for 10-15 minutes if too firm, making scooping easier without compromising texture.
